Is my use of e-books being monitored?

Answer

Your use of e-books is not being actively monitored. However, all e-book providers collect statistics on how many times their e-books have been accessed or downloaded by Exeter users.

These data are anonymous and individual users cannot be identified from the data. This is exactly the same as how Library staff keep track of how many times a print book has been borrowed. Only Library staff and admin staff working for the e-book providers are able to access e-book usage data, which are not shared more widely.

This year, slightly different arrangements have been put in place for Kortext e-textbooks. Click here to read more about how your Kortext usage data may be used.
