What can I do to make reading off a screen more dyslexia friendly?

There are a few possibilities for making reading online more comfortable, depending on the e-book platform you are using. Some e-book platforms offer the possibility of changing the font of an e-book to OpenDyslexic, such as Ebook Central, EBSCO Host and Kortext. If this is not possible within the e-book platform, Chrome offers an OpenDyslexic browser extension which allows you to format pages using the Open Dyslexic font.
If you would rather listen to a book rather than read it, there are also a variety of free text-to-speech tools which can convert e-book text to natural sounding speech, such as Selection Reader, NaturalReader and Intelligent Speaker. Take a look at our Accessibility LibGuide for more information.
