Why do page numbers in Kortext books sometimes not match those in the print version?

Answer

This is caused by the publisher's formatting of the file they sent to Kortext. Within the Kortext Reader, the editable page numbers (i.e. the left-most, underlined set of page numbers in the navigation bar) should exactly match those printed on the page of the hard-copy version, as shown below in the red box:

These are also always the lowest set of numbers when multiple number ranges are displayed. Digital page numbers and locations are also indicated to help you navigate unnumbered page views such as the front matter and book covers. The files used within the Kortext reader are designed to ensure that text flows continuously like a webpage and reflows to automatically adjust to your screen size and device. This means that it is not usually possible to adjust the layout of pages within the Kortext Reader to exactly match the print version.

Kortext e-textbooks do undergo quality control to ensure page numbers match those in the print version, but if you experience any difficulties navigating through an e-textbook, let us know and we will ask Kortext to check that particular title.
