Why can't I find an e-book version of my book?
Answer
Although the Library tries to buy all new library content in an electronic format wherever possible, there are a number of reasons why we may not have purchased a particular e-book:
- The publisher may not produce an e-book version in a format suitable for Library purchase (e.g. Kindle versions cannot be purchased by institutions, only individual users)
- The cost of the e-book may have been prohibitively expensive
- An e-book may not have been published at the time the Library was asked to buy it
- The book may be old and out of print, and so it doesn't exist in a digital format
- The publisher may simply have decided not to produce an e-book version for their own reasons
