Why can't I find an e-book version of my book?

Answer

Although the Library tries to buy all new library content in an electronic format wherever possible, there are a number of reasons why we may not have purchased a particular e-book:

  1. The publisher may not produce an e-book version in a format suitable for Library purchase (e.g. Kindle versions cannot be purchased by institutions, only individual users)
  2. The cost of the e-book may have been prohibitively expensive
  3. An e-book may not have been published at the time the Library was asked to buy it
  4. The book may be old and out of print, and so it doesn't exist in a digital format
  5. The publisher may simply have decided not to produce an e-book version for their own reasons

If you are not able to find an e-book version of any book you need, just get in touch and tell us what you need and we will investigate for you.
