Where would I find legal sources to help with comparative legal research?
Answer
Comparative law is the study of differences and similarities between the law of different countries.
It can be tricky to know where to look for information from other jurisdictions as many of the legal databases you will have used for your research are focused on UK law. However, both Lexis and Westlaw have separate interfaces which will connect you with law from other jurisdictions.
A handy Comparative Law LibGuide is available to help guide you to these and other useful sources such as the IALS jurisdiction guides.
Take a look at the Comparative Law Libguide for help and support. You will also find details there for your Law Librarian and you can book a 1:1 research appointment if you need further advice.
